***** Matter Of Fact. Actually *****
...this write-up was NEVER supposed to be EVER coming.
This has been an INVITED post. Rather... an ELICITED one.
Actually a PROVOKED post...

Somavanshi, ChandraVanshi
Recently, in a book fair, chanced on a book -
"The Yadavs of India" by Dr SwapanKumar Ghosh
Listing the following Yadavas as part of the great Yadu Vansh ( Lunar race ) -
Ahir/ Ahuk/ Abhira Kings, The Rashtrakutas
Bhojas, Trikutakas
The Kalachuris
Paramars
The Yadavs of Devgiri, The Yadavs of Vijay Nagar
Bhatti Yadavs, Jat Yadavs
Chedi Kingdom of Kalachuris, Chandellas of Bundelkhand
Chalukyas of Badami, Chalukyas of Kalyani, The Eastern Chalukyas
The Nagas,
The Pals of Bengal, The Ghosh of Bengal, The Varmans ( Barman/ Burman ) of Bengal
The Pallavs, The Maukharis, The Pandyas
...
Interesting to note that all the Jats ( and the Sikh Jats too. Like - NSS aka "Thoko Taali" ) all belong to the same descent...
Similar to - Yadavs, Rashtrakutas, Kalachuris, Paramars, Bhatti Yadavs, Chandellas, Pals & Ghosh of Bengal, etc. , etc.
QUESTION -
How come all the Somavanshi/ ChandraVanshis are so much fragmented in couple dozen of castes and clans across India ? In all the diverse regions of India ?
Much unlike to other set of well entrenched set of endogamous groups ?
Who might have got entrenched during Mughal times and even whilst British mis-rule.
...
...
...
AS AN ASIDE -
If I had NOT objected to non-appointment of the COAS during Q1-Q2, 2014 ( owing to model code of conduct during national election times ) .
It is highly likely that there would have been another COAS.
In this context -
I recall one BJP leader from Bihar was insistent that the COAS be appointed after the elections were over i.e. once BJP comes to power.
WHY ? WHY SO ?
Is it possible that this might have meant that there would have been another COAS, per the BJP ( implies RSS as well ) core group/ coterie agenda.
I bet - YES.
Just making a bland point. Albeit an important one.
